Product Description
This mug celebrates American Ingenuity in WWII by telling the story of a B-17G, "Little Miss Mischief".
On the right side of the mug, the B-17 is depicted at the moment the bombs have been released. All views are drawn in scale with each other.
On the left side of the mug, we tell the story of Little Miss Mischief and how the front of one B-17 came to be spliced with the back of another B-17. The exact text is:
American ingenuity got Little Miss Mischief (B-17G 42-97880) back in the fight after almost being cut in two by flak in 1944. The repair required mating the rear half of an olive drab B-17 with the front half of Little Miss Mischief plus parts of 13 other aircraft. The result was a B-17 whose front half was built by Vega in Los Angeles and rear half built by Boeing in Seattle. Little Miss Mischief flew 15 more missions as a hybrid before crashing in the UK, ending her career with 50 missions.
