Big Brother and Little Friends...
The B-17 was primarily employed by the USAAF in the daylight strategic bombing campaign of World War II against German industrial and military targets.
The P-51 was the first fighter to have the range to be the fighter escort to the B-17 bomber missions.
The combination of the B-17 and P-51 made daylight strategic bombing campaign possible.
On the right side of the mug, the B-17 is depicted at the moment the bombs have been released with the P-51 above the bomber. On the center of the mug, we depict the two front views and the primary Greman anti-aircraft gun, the 8.8 cm Flak 18/36, firing a shell. On the left side, the topview of the B-17 and P-51 is depicted. All views are drawn in scale with each other.
